UP Scholarship
The Backward Classes Welfare Department of Uttar Pradesh launched the Post-Matric Scholarship (Other than Intermediate) for OBC in 2024. This scholarship is for students pursuing higher education or studies. Students who are selected will receive tuition fee reimbursements up to Rs50,000 or their actual fees, whichever is lower.
Eligibility Criteria
- Indian citizens
- You must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh
- Belong to the Other Blocked Classes (OBC).
- be studying graduation, postgraduation, or higher level degree at a recognized institution/university
- You must have a parent’s or guardian’s annual income from all sources of less than 2,000,000 rupees per year
Those Students who study in the following courses are ineligible for the scholarship
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Program
- Private Pilot License course
- Sainik High School Dehradun, training course
- All India Pre-Examination and State-Level Training
- Distance and correspondence courses
- Course for Commercial Pilot License CPL
- When courses are taught by private sector institutes certificates/marks are awarded by no university, affiliated board, or authorized department, and examinations are not conducted at a standardized level by an approved agency, that is, when there is no uniform control and standardization.
Benefits Of the UP Scholarship
Students in the following categories will be eligible for a refund of the non-refundable annual fees approved by the relevant authority.

1 | Technical courses (graduate/postgraduate) | Up to ₹50,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less |
2 | Non-technical/vocational courses (postgraduate) | Up to ₹30,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less |
3 | Undergraduate non-technical/vocational | Up to ₹20,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less |
4 | Technical/professional courses at the intermediate and equivalent level | Up to ₹10,000 or actual fees paid, whichever is less |
Required Documents
- Proof of residence includes electricity bill, Ration card, or Voter ID.
- Caste certificate
- A passport-size photograph
- Certificate of Annual Family Income
- Marksheets/certificates of qualifying examinations
- Admission letter/receipt for current year fees
- Domicile certificate
- Birth Certificate
- Student ID card
- Student bank passbook
How Can You Apply For Up Scholarship
Follow these steps to apply for the UP Scholarship
- Click the “Apply Now” below.
- Click on the “Register” button. If you are registered, Log in with your Gmail/Mobile Number/Email ID.
- Click on ‘Registration” on the left side of the dashboard. (Note: If the applicant has already registered, please click the Fresh Login button and select the scholarship).
- Click on the “Postmatric Other Than Intermediate” under the “For OBC Category” section.
- Fill out all the required information to register and click on Generate OTP.
- After successful registration, log in using valid credentials.
- Fill in all the details and upload any relevant documents. Then click the “Submit” button.
